If it's cheap, tasty Italian food you're looking for then this is the place to go, especially if you're visiting the cinema at Fountainpark.
Opposite the Fountainpark cinema complex, Piatto Verde is a cosy Italian neighbourhood restaurant in a low-key setting – wooden tables and chairs and a bar with an open hatch to the kitchen. The long menu covers the usual bases: Italian breads, pastas (with a half portion of any pasta available as a starter), risotto, salads, pizzas, chicken, steaks with a choice of sauces and fish of the day displayed on the board. While the calamari fritti is good (but would benefit from homemade tartare sauce) absolutely no improvement can be made on the pizza dal mare – mixed seafood with tomato, garlic and mozzarella on a delicious pizza base. Wash it all down with a carafe of house wine and you’ll totter off to your film a very happy bunny indeed.
