Cute and tasteful venue with fabulous views and high end baking

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).
A wall of freshly baked specialist breads set the tone on entering this chic deli and café, hunkered on the ancient cobbles of Queensferry high street. A stripped back interior of wooden floors, stone columns, industrial lights and nicely placed retro fittings frames a long row of chiller cabinets hosting an abundance of stuffed rolls, baguettes, cakes, scones, salads and patisserie, all created overnight by their mothership bakery in Edinburgh. Check the blackboard for daily deals which may include punchy homemade cauliflower soup loaded with vibrant herbs accompanied by a hearty potion of rosemary tinted focaccia, warmed on the grill and filled with red pepper, moist artichoke and chewy mozzarella. From the patisserie a creative take on the brownie has a malty Guinness flavoured crumb with sweet butter cream topping. Staff are chatty and approachable and the views are sublime (perch at a window seat for a great outlook to the Forth and bridges).
