Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

Situated in the old police box just outside the Byres Road junction entrance to the Botanic Gardens, Westend Roasters arguably have the nicest back garden in the whole of Glasgow. It’s rather like the Tardis has arrived and parked up to serve coffee before going on to other adventures. The modus operandi is nice and simple – pick up a coffee to go, maybe a snack to accompany it, have a brief chat with the charming person working in the box, and nip round to the Botanics to savour the delicious coffee while enjoying a bit of quiet time with nature. The hot chocolate is warming and deliciously sweet, and even in the cold weather it is worth making a visit. It's all about the location, the convenience, and the takeaway – a little bit of fun and a good shot of caffeine.
