It All Started Here
Compact speciality coffee shop with light bites and cakes to go with the multi-roasted beans.
It’s all about the coffee here. These guys are geeks – in a great way. Having cut their teeth on the festival/pop-up circuit they have recently settled into an ultra-cool space in Shawlands to spread the gospel about single origins, batch brews, extraction, filtration and all things coffee bean. It even hosts occasional tutorial evenings for those wanting to delve deeper. You don’t have to be that into coffee to love it though – it’s a cool space, with reupholstered vintage chairs, architectural photography on the walls and a wonderful stereo. There are some terrific toasts (such as avo and ‘nduja or feta and roast tomato) and the cakes aren’t half bad either. Tea drinkers welcome. Another great addition to the ‘hood.
- Provides: Vegetarian options (at least ¼ main courses)
