Enticing café-deli at Hyndland serving good coffee and cakes, and a range of artisan sandwiches on in-house baked breads, plus groceries to go.

Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

This charming deli is situated a short walk from busy Byres Road, but feels far removed from the madding crowd. Elegantly decorated in traditional wood, and selling a range of ingredients, teas and coffees, its strength lies in the various in-house baked breads – from sourdough to spelt – and the delicious sandwiches constructed. While the cakes are tempting, it is the soup and sandwich selection that really excels – an intriguing set of combinations, prepared on demand, they are well worth the travel from a wide area. The top quality of the bread is matched by the fillings, with the set pieces both wholesome and subtle in their tastes. The service is personal and friendly and the staff clearly enjoy the work and care about the food quality. The seating area is limited to about a dozen – but grab one and you’ll enjoy the warm and intimate atmosphere.
