Considerit Chocolate

Vegan chocolate, doughnuts and ice-cream café where everything is plant-based, including the cream eggs.

Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

With simple pine banquette seating and scatter cushions, everything in this small café opposite Summerhall is plant-based; from their ice-cream, doughnuts and drinks to their golden cream eggs. Vegan Belgian hot chocolate can be made with oat, almond or soya milk – oat makes a surprisingly creamy, if not overly chocolatey drink. Customers can watch them making vegan chocolates on the premises, or peek through the picture windows to see what’s going on. A salted caramel chocolate bar has the balance of sweet and salt spot-on – being dairy free makes the toffee in the centre softer than mainstream brands. The day’s selection of vegan artisan doughnuts sells fast, with choices from raspberry or cinnamon sugar to oreo or chocolate and hazelnut.
