Annakut Vegetarian and Vegan Restaurant
Veggie Indian restaurant with a good range of vegan choices, focusing on the cuisines of Southern India and Gujarat.
When you're vegetarian or vegan, nothing quite beats the feeling of going to a restaurant and being spoilt for choice. Having recently popped up in the Southside, Annakut is one of Edinburgh's newest havens for vegetarian/vegan diners, offering cuisines from three main regions of India. The menu is conveniently split by region, with a South Indian zone featuring dosas and uttapam; a Gujarati zone with delightful options like ringan bateta (aubergine and potatoes cooked in tomato gravy and special spices) and gatta nu shaak (steamed gram flour dumplings); and the Punjabi zone providing classics like paneer makhani, korma and kolhapuri. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the number of dishes that cater to various dietary and religious requirements, but further impressed by Annakut's ability to lock in both spice and flavour across the menu, from the street food starters and grilled appetisers to the traditionally hearty desserts like kheer, halwa and vegan seero.
Finest & authentic Indian Vegetarian and Vegan cuisine, our menu contains three of the most popular foody regions from India. Gujarati, Punjabi and South Indian food with authentic street food starters, come dine with us to experience the real taste of India.
