Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2018 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £7.95 (+p&p).

It’s all about the base at this pocket-sized pizzeria that aims to bring restaurant-quality ingredients to the fast-food market. Handmade batches of seawater dough are stretched into 15” pizzas topped with fresh ingredients from Scotland and Italy and fired in a huge stone oven, a focal point in the open kitchen. Opened early summer 2017, this white-tiled Newington outpost is the slightly smaller little brother to the Rose Street original and with just five stools along a street-facing counter, it isn’t the place for a leisurely sit down meal. Instead, pop in for a lunchtime slice and a salad, grab a pizza to go or ring for home delivery. Homemade infused oils, imaginative sides of meat, cheese and antipasti, and fresh salad boxes all lift this place above the standard fast food outlet. With a menu dotted with DOP ingredients, assembled with care and served without the usual frenetic takeaway rush, Dough is the pizzeria every neighbourhood deserves.
