Wide variety of crispy, thin, sourdough pizza by the pie or the slice, with a student buzz and pretty quick turnover.

Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2018/19 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £7.95 (+p&p).

If it’s a 20-inch pizza pie that you fancy or just a hefty slice, this is the place to go. Located just opposite the university, the regulars at Civerinos Slice are an eclectic mix of students, schoolchildren, tourists or just people enjoying the 90s hip hop soundtrack. With plenty of New York-style slices to choose from, popular options include their signature pizza, with pepperoni, Sicilian sausage, rosemary and a good helping of sugo (their special tomato sauce), or a classic margherita or pepperoni slice. For something a bit different, try the king of New York – the pizza equivalent of a reuben sandwich complete with pickles, or the grandma slice, a Sicilian pan pizza cooked with lots of olive oil. This is great pizza to be enjoyed in-house or at home (each takeaway box even comes with a leaflet containing perfect next day pizza cooking instructions) and the passion of the whole team shines through all aspects of the Civerinos operation.
