Lindores Abbey Distillery
A whisky distillery opened in 2017, 500 years after the site was last used for the same purpose. While waiting for the whisky to mature, the distillery currently produces two spirits: a hand-crafted botanical, Aqua Vitae, a re-imagining of a 15th-century recipe made using local ingredients; and New Make Spirit, a full-bodied floral. The copper still distillery is open to visitors and offers tours, apothecary mixologist experiences and whisky or Champagne afternoon teas. Also hosts private dining and events

We really love it when people make the pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Fife to visit Lindores Abbey Distillery and we are proud of our Cloister exhibition which tells the story of the Tironensian monks of Lindores and the skills and education that they brought to Newburgh and the surrounding area.
Guests can also enjoy exploring the Abbey Ruins, browsing our gift shop, enjoying drinks in our Legacy Bar and dining in our Refectory Café. It is of course our whisky tours that really interest our guests with tours three times daily we can allow visitors to get a behind the scenes tour with one of our knowledgeable guides. The tour will conclude with a chance to taste the spirit along with our delicious Aqua Vitae.
