In a cosy roof space, diners can enjoy tapas-sized staples of Greek cuisine and a few Turkish favourites.

Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

Skip the dips and go straight for the fish. As a delicate chunk of filleted sea bass flakes onto the rosemary, you won’t regret it. From the tender calamari to the juicy octopus, the chefs here clearly have the Midas touch around seafood. In a cosy loft with a starry aquatic dome as a centrepiece, the view over the Clyde and its iconic riverside skyline will surely be a major attraction for visitors to the city. The other is the proximity to major concert venues that loom around the historic Rotunda building – once the entrance to the tunnel under the Clyde – which makes checking the gig schedule almost essential for early evening visits. It’s a pan-Med menu with guests from Cyprus and Turkey mingling happily with their regional neighbour. Chunky courgette and feta fritters and a Greek salad make for an amenable supporting cast without offering the same quality as the seafood. More inspiring is the chance to enjoy a juicy Yianni Paranga wine, from that somewhat rare style of Greek grapes with a little body to match the fruit flavours.
