The Lamppost Café

The Lamppost Cafe is inspired by the life and work of local legend CS Lewis and situated in bubbling suburb of East Belfast (on the upper Newtownards road, near CS Lewis Square).

We are a family-run, independent business with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We have a passion for local fresh produce and pride ourselves that all our suppliers are based in Northern Ireland.

Though our food and family are local, our hospitality experience and knowledge has been gathered from across Ireland, London, France and even Australia.

We are family-friendly and dog-friendly. Our menu ranges from homely stews, hearty pies and fries to indulgent desserts, scones and tray bakes. We also cater for various dietary requirements (including vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free). We have something for everyone.

We want to bring back the enjoyment of eating, reading and relaxing. CS Lewis once wrote: 'You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to please me.' We like to think even he would be happy in The Lamppost Cafe.
