Art and Vintage

Bright and friendly café and art gallery with a shop selling vintage curiosities and local artworks.

Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

True to its name, the café section of Art and Vintage is made up of retro tables and chairs brought back to life with a lick of bright blue and yellow paint. Local artists’ work adorn the walls and the big, bright windows are filled with vintage curiosities for sale. It’s a good thing the breakfast menu is all-day because it would be a shame to miss out on the pancakes just because you got up late. A fluffy stack with crispy bacon sitting in a sticky puddle of maple syrup hits the spot. A daily brunch special boasts inventive dishes like baked eggs with fresh, crunchy spinach and smoked salmon slightly cured in tangy lemon juice. Sandwiches and a daily soup are available to takeaway or sit in. Tempting cakes and bakes are hard to ignore as you place your order at the counter and indulging in a fresh cinnamon bun doesn’t disappoint, ideally with a bowl-like mug of their strong, earthy coffee.
