This neighbourhood eatery is a handy stop-off on the busy Causewayside thoroughfare. The eclectic hipster clutter makes for a cosy, laid-back feel, complete with fairy lights and the odd stuffed animal head on the wall. Plump Danish pastries in an expansive glass counter steal the show. Meanwhile spiced carrot and coriander soup is a homely lunch option and good value for money, served with a ham and cheddar roll or a harissa flatbread. A selection of cakes, from pecan and toffee tarts to lemon meringue, pull in a steady stream of locals and students. Cosy corners with cushions are a tempting option for afternoon coffee, while a downstairs basement room, if a little less luxurious, offers ample space for those wanting to linger with a laptop.
