Belgium and Glasgow have been having an elicit affair for years, finally Six°North has blown their cover with it's fine beer and rustic Flemish fare.

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).
Once a dystopian Unthank, now a fashionable locale, the Thornwood area past Partick railway station is awash with shiny new bars and restaurants all vying for your attention. six°north is the jewel in the crown that was in past times a desolate area of Dumbarton Road. Everyone wants to know the next ‘hip’ place – well here it is. All metal and exposed brick, you’ll think you’ve taken the red pill by mistake, and after a few of Belgium’s finest beers, you’ll even feel like it too. There are loads, from six°north’s own Hopocrisy to Belgian classics such as Dupont’s Saison. The menu offers a rustic selection of starter dishes such as the fresh prawn and crab salad or ham and endive gratin. The main event is essential here with the rich Flemish carbonade a standout and if you fancy some afters, there's a gloriously sweet Begian chocolate brownie.
