Glasgow's second BrewDog bar is a more food-focused affair, with burgers, wings and smoked meats to accompany the 25 lines of craft beer

Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

Glasgow's second BrewDog bar is one of Merchant City's most popular post-work drinking spots. Inside the industrial space of exposed pipework, the list of daily draught towers above the bar, with percentages of certain beers reaching into the teens. There are 25 beer lines with approximately 16 pouring BrewDog products, from the super citrusy Elvis Juice to the malty chocolate tones of a Zeitgeist. Other taps rotate brews chosen by the beer-enthusiast staff, from breweries such as Mad Hatter, Beaver Town and Weird Beard. The kitchen dishes up burgers, wings and smoked meat, including pulled pork, beef brisket and smoked links, all served on metal trays with a rack of sauces. A hefty slab of St Louis ribs falls apart on the fork and a rich pot of mac and cheese is topped with crispy onions. If you don't have time to linger you can buy growlers at the bar or visit the well stocked bottle shop.
