Melanie Neil took early retirement from her medical career to start her new life as a chocolatier in 2014. Post-Master Chef course at Cocoa Black, she has set to building a range of chocolates that reflect her belief in the power of good ingredients. She combs the shores of Loch Lomond for her bee pollen and wild flower bar, picks black peppermint and lavender from her garden for mint crunch bars and lavender hot chocolate melts, and makes syrup from foraged rosehips for rose creams and truffles. Ganaches are single origin, and many ingredients are organic. These, plus hot chocolates, caramels and chocolate brownies can all be bought online, and arrive beautifully wrapped and packaged by hand. Melanie has also partnered with A Gift from Loch Lomond to create the Loch Lomond Chocolate Co. range, currently made up of three single origin bars, one of which is cranachan flavoured (raspberry, whisky and honey).
