Brasserie Les Amis
This restaurant has ceased trading.
A classy, accomplished West End venue that feels and tastes instinctively French.
With a chic frontage and slick interior slap-bang in the city’s central business district, this French brasserie could sit comfortably on a busy Parisian boulevard. A crisp feuilleté of brie might start off your meal or perhaps opt for a classic of moules marinières or pork rillettes with garlic croutons and onion chutney. The boudin noir main with apple and mash is as good as you’ll get across the channel. As a fish of the day option, the smoked haddock has a subtle and delicately zesty lemony butter sauce, and the all-important salad that accompanies most sides and mains here is fresh, with proper handmade vinaigrette. A well-executed île flottante with its fluffy meringue top on a light crème anglaise finishes things off perfectly with one of their great cups of coffee. For the quality on offer, the lunch and dinner set menus are very good value for money. With relaxed friendly service and an on-site deli, it’s an all-round class act.
