Stockbridge branch of artisan coffee house offering an extended food menu alongside direct-sourced coffee.

Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

This Stockbridge outpost of Artisan Roast offers not just good coffee but an extended menu of food and snacks from its in-house kitchen. In addition to the sandwiches and cakes found in the two other Edinburgh branches, Stockbridge offers the likes of waffles, baked camembert and bruschetta. Generous toasties oozing with brie and filled with salty parma ham are served with homemade relish and are pretty good value for this part of town. Compared to its Bruntsfield and Broughton Street siblings, it feels more of a lunch place, somewhere to meet friends for an overdue catch up rather than a caffeine pit-stop. But, of course, the coffee is still the same high quality, directly sourced from growers worldwide. Get there in good time to grab a window seat for people watching; there’s also decent outdoor seating if the weather’s so inclined.
