A great location with views over the Firth of Clyde for this comfortable hotel restaurant serving a familiar menu of carefully prepared dishes.
Situated in the Parkstone Hotel on the Ayr waterfront, Restaurant 33 boasts sea views along with food made from locally sourced produce that’s all cooked to order. Between the floral patterned carpet, wine-red walls and dark wood furnishings, it’s perhaps not the most contemporary looking of places, but the food shows good ideas and ambition and makes plenty of use of Scottish fish in particular. The evening à la carte menu includes starters such as warm goat’s cheese with pine nut salad and blueberry balsamic reduction, mains such as pan-fried fillet of sea bream with a light thai green curry cream and fillet of sea bass on a warm shrimp vinaigrette dressed salad. As well as a three-course lunch menu on a similar theme as dinner, they also do a basic daytime snacks selection of sandwiches, wraps and paninis, plus a handful of fast dishes such as breaded haddock goujons and chicken tempura.
