Pera is a blink and you’ll miss it Turkish delight at the top of Leith Walk. The mezze selection is an ever-changing chef’s selection of homemade dips and vegetables, olives and bread. The charcoal grill is put to good use flavouring vegetables and bread, but really comes into its own when used to barbeque meat to caramelised glory. The sultan’s feast is a great way to try a little bit of almost everything from the vegetable dishes, followed by a platter of lamb and chicken and finished with baklava – it’s modestly priced and very generously portioned. The freshly made and theatrically presented sizzling vegetable tagine is a perfectly balanced wildcard of figs, walnuts and tomatoes. Salads pop with pomegranate and throughout flavouring is intense and on point. Bring your own bottle and come hungry; you’ll leave full and happy and feeling like you have just visited family in this tiny bit of Turkey.

Pera represents Turkish food at its best right in the heart of Edinburgh. We offer a unique range of authentic Turkish cuisine ranging from traditional Turkish breakfast dishes, freshly made gozleme with a choice of delicious fillings followed by a large range of hot and cold freshly made meze dishes. In the evening we also offer a variety of kebabs, all marinated in a blend of aromatic spices and flame grilled on our mangal (charcoal BBQ) the Turkish way. There is a daily catch of the day also available for fish lovers.

We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a choice of sit in or take away.
