Redmond's of Dennistoun
A real asset, and perhaps testament, to the burgeoning area that Dennistoun is becoming in terms of where the line between community and bar are blurred.
A true sense of community is alive and well in the East End, thanks in part to Redmond's of Dennistoun. As a constantly progressive entity in the area, you sense within only a couple of minutes of being inside that it's garnered the trust and support of the locals. The tunes you hear in the background all come from a vinyl playlist supplied by customers who they encourage to bring in their favourite records – they even hold a monthly vinyl fair. The beer on tap is testament to the evolving and collaborative mindset, showcasing the best from local brewery Drygate and other European neighbours. Yet, it's surely the food that has engendered them to the stylish avant-garde of the East. Sample their famous steamed buns, the pork or halloumi are glorious, or plump for the potted crab from the small but delectable small plate options.
