Artisan coffee roasters, Steampunk launched their coffee house in The Warehouse in North Berwick in March 2014. The roastery is on the ground floor, where the huge poured-concrete bar serves it up alongside a light and locally sourced menu and home-baking, in cool, modern surroundings that make more than a nod to the building's origins - but with the warmth of a wood-burning stove. Their shiny VW van also regularly parks up at Edinburgh's Stockbridge market, and can be seen around town delivering beans to an ever-increasing list of cafes. Watch out for coffee tastings and supper club evenings at The Warehouse too.

Back in the day, this big old warehouse in North Berwick’s Kirk Ports was a second-hand furniture saleroom, but that was before artisan coffee roasters Steampunk rolled into town with their vintage VW camper van and set up shop. The huge, poured concrete bar on the ground floor sells coffee and cake alongside a light and locally sourced menu, while upstairs distressed brickwork and metal beams in a big loft-like space nod to the building’s origins, with the added warmth of a wood-burning stove. Book readings and live music add up to a sociable, social place – and watch out for the Big Blu pizza van on Fridays. You can also often catch the Steampunk van at farmers' markets and events around Edinburgh.
