Sharon Hunter set up Border Meringues in 2005, hand-making meringues in her kitchen, and later a shed in her garden, using organic eggs and sugar. After winning a contract with Asda, she moved out to the Jedburgh premises, later setting up a coffee shop under the same roof, and a second cafe/shop in Kelso. As well as serving these and local retail trade, she and her small staff now make cakes, meringues and puddings for the general public to order.
