John Scott Meat Ltd
Not open to the public.
John Scott Meat began trading in 1968, when several butchers in the Greenock area asked local farmer John Scott if he could supply them direct. The business today delivers bone-in meat (beef, lamb and pork), boxed meat and portion controlled meat to butchers, wholesalers and caterers throughout Scotland and the south east of England. Key developments in recent years have included the acquisition of William Bosomworth from Utd. Auctions, and the purchase of Galashiels-based Forth Meat Supplies. The company’s southern England business, meanwhile, is run from a wholly-owned distribution depot at Basildon in Essex. The business today is run by John Scott’s daughter Hazel and son Jamie. Beef and lamb are sourced to match individual customer requirements, including weight range, fat cover, breed and sex. The boning team produce to individual customer requirements, and carry a full selection of vacuum packed primal cuts of beef, plus a complete range of beef and lamb offal.
