Ballimore Oysters is based on the shores of Loch Fyne, in a small village called Otter Ferry. The oysters attain their name from Ballimore Estate, the estate that they are laid on. The fortunate positioning of the Pacific oyster farm halfway down Loch Fyne means there are no large rivers interfering with the natural sea flavour. The tidal flow is very fast and therefore gives the oysters plenty of plankton-rich water for nutrition, and keeps them clean.
