Ritchie's of Rothesay
One of Scotland's oldest smokehouses, in continuous operation since 1888, Ritchie's of Rothesay has been part of this tradition since 1956. Products are hand filleted, cured and sliced, and made without artificial colours and flavours. Though specialising in Atlantic salmon, they also smoke trout, haddock and kippers. The Ritchie's shop in Rothesay sells the range of smoked fish, as well as a wide selection of fresh fish, poultry and shellfish, and complementary sauces, garnishes and grocery items. Salmon is cured for two days and nights before being smoked over oak shavings from Scotch whisky casks in 100-year-old kilns.
