McKechnie Jess was formed in 1988 by merging the manufacturing arm of AP Jess Scottish Food Group and well respected wholesale and manufacturing butcher Allan McKechnie & Co. Products range from value sausages and burgers to wholesome premium food for the food service sector, and they now produce over 80 tons of finished goods per week. The range includes 28 varieties of sausage; fourteen varieties of burger; twenty-eight types of stuffing; black, white and fruit pudding; haggis and the 'Chefs' Gourmet' range. This is made up of dishes such as haggis lasagne, Thai pork meatballs, twice-cooked pork ribs and chicken breasts stuffed with black pudding.
