Braehead Foods Ltd
Not open to the public.
Prominent, Scotland-wide distributor of local produce to restaurants, specializing in game and charcuterie but also offering prepared meats and a wide range of speciality fine foods.
When the country's chefs need to shop, their first stop is often Ayrshire's Braehead Foods. The company is a fine food wholesaler and Scottish game processor, supplying the hospitality sector across the UK and Europe. Owner Craig Stevenson runs the multi-faceted operation with a vision of providing everything a chef needs including meat, poultry, cheeses, smoked fish, charcuterie and a top class range of dried goods. During the game season, the company collects game from estates around Scotland to process at their custom-built factory on the outskirts of Kilmarnock. The Braehead production kitchen also produces an extensive range including pâtés and terrines, hand-cut poultry, sauces and marinades, and vegetarian dishes, while their newest element, the Scottish Charcuterie Company, produces various cured meats, salamis and sausages.
