For over fifteen years the MacLean brothers have been baking breads, cakes and oatcakes from MacLean's Hebridean Bakery on the outskirts of Balivanich. A small, independent bakery, Allan MacLean remains still personally involved in the baking of all their oatcakes and biscuits. Produce is available at their onsite shop, through a takeaway and retail outlet in Balivanich, through local stockists including the Co-operative and via mail order. They make traditional biscuits, confectionery, pastries and oatcakes - oatcakes are wheat-free and suitable for vegetarians. Canape cases are made from Scottish oats, as well as large oatcake cases designed for first course presentation.
