A K Stoddart Ltd
Not open to the public.
From a stand in Edinburgh's municipal abattoir in the 1950s, Stoddarts has grown into an independent Scottish beef processing company supplying retail, wholesale, manufacturing, food-service and butchers. From Stoddart's farm-assured abattoir in Ayr, the meat is trucked to their processing plant near Edinburgh, where the butchery teams prepare it. Ready-for-use product is delivered to manufacturers of ready meals, and a further Stoddart's processing site prepares sliced and diced beef packs, various burgers and minced beef, among other products. They have developed private label and own-label brands, as well as launching many added-value lines. All products can be supplied chilled or free-flow frozen. Stoddart's use Scotch beef PGI or certified Aberdeen Angus beef, and are the largest processor of certified Aberdeen Angus beef in the UK. Products include primal cuts and further processed product through to fifth quarter cuts.
