Jon and Lynn Cooper run wholesale tea company Edinburgh Tea, and opened Edinburgh's first Tea Bar and Coffee House, Pekoe Tea, in 2006. Here, they now stock over 100 loose leaf teas, with regular tasting sessions to introduce new favourites to your tea repertoire. These can be bought to take home, or picked from the menu to have in-house, with or without a slice of Chocolate Tree cake or a macaron from Patisserie Madeleine. The coffee is Edinburgh's favourite Artisan Roast, and as well as cakes they stock a selection of top quality chocolate bars, some bean-to-bar from the Chocolate Tree and iQ. Hot beverages of this quality deserve the best china, and to this end you'll find shelves of design classics from Zero Japan and enough tea and coffee accessories for the smartest of tea parties.

Established in 2008, PekoeTea is family owned, luxury tea business run by Jon Cooper and Esther Kungu-Cooper.

We source the finest single-estate teas and create unique hand-crafted blends at our Edinburgh tea factory in the historic port of Leith.

Our single-estate teas are traded directly where possible and we are proud of the personal relationships we have made with tea growers and producers around the world.

We have gone from a small market stall and online order business to where we are today, importing teas directly from around the world and creating our own blends in-house.

We have a tea studio at 11 Leith Walk in Edinburgh where all out teas are available to buy. Our customers can taste some of the finest teas available in the world, prepared traditionally and always with an interest in and respect for the origins and culture of tea.

Our passion for tea has led us to visit tea-growing areas around the world including China, India, Sri Lanka and Kenya and in the process we have discovered a world of flavours and aromas from hand-made and single estate teas that are only now starting to become better known in the UK.

Our focus is to bring the best teas available to our base in Scotland and to share our discoveries and expertise. To do this, we have built personal relationships with growers and producers around the world and trade directly with them. This way, not only do we get access to some of the finest teas available, but we also have the inside story on how they are produced as well as the history of why and how the methods came to be.

All our teas are imported into Edinburgh and our blends are all made in-house from scratch. We pack everything by hand, with our full range available in our Edinburgh tea shop or online. As well as this, we have a growing wholesale operation with many partners across Edinburgh as well as further afield in the UK and around the world.
