William Grant & Sons Ltd
Established in 1887, William Grant & Sons Ltd is one of the oldest independent distilleries in the world. Still owned by the Grant family, it has a portfolio of brands headed by the legendary Glenfiddich single malt, and through its subsidiary First Drinks Brands it distributes a wide variety of world labels including Heidsieck champagne, Cointreau and Mount Gay Rum. In 1963, Glenfiddich was the first ever single malt to be marketed outside Scotland, starting a worldwide thirst for the stuff which shows no signs of drying up. Glenfiddich is the company's flagship product, a multiple-award-winning range of single malt whiskies, from the iconic, mellow 12 Year Old in its distinctive green bottle to ultra-exclusive vintages such as the 1937. The Balvenie is another range of single malts with a distinctively honeyed character. Grant's blended scotch is a popular line of blended whiskies. The company also produces Sailor Jerry's Spiced Rum, Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey and Hendrick's Gin.
