Ria's Sambal & Soya Sauce
Not open to the public.
Ria Bromley's name may not sound Dutch, let alone Indonesian, but she's a proud 'Indisch' – a Dutchwoman of Indonesian extraction. When she moved to Aberdeenshire with her husband, she decided to make it her mission to introduce Scotland to Indonesian flavours and so created Ria's Sambal, her own take on the popular chilli-based condiment. She's gone on to produce her own soy sauce, sweeter than the usual kind, as well as a Peanut Satay sauce. Ria gives regular cooking demonstrations, offers private cooking lessons for those wanting to further explore Indonesian cuisine, regularly shows up at farmers' markets and has a thriving Facebook following.
