Launched in spring 2013, Plenta was making waves with its first product, Pulsetta rolls, before the first pack was even sold. The patent-pending recipe avoids all the major food intolerances - gluten, lactose, soy, wheat and egg - while still tasting like decent bread. Taste tested by over 1000 people, including 300 coeliacs, the health profile of the rolls is all-important: using plant-based protein, they are high in fibre, vitamins, and minerals, and low in saturated fat, salt/sodium, and sugar. Pulsetta rolls, and new products along the same health lines including loaves of bread, breadcrumbs and biscuits, are currently available to retail and foodservice throughout Scotland.
