The longhouse restaurant in the centre of Kilmarnock is a firm favourite with locals. Open all day, it offers inspired and formal dining with several different menus to chose from. The day starts with early offerings from traditional Scottish breakfasts to lighter choices of scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and filled rolls. The varied lunch includes a nod to some Scottish-inspired dishes such as Cullen Skink, Shetland mussels, and smoked haddock and king prawn gratin with a Barwheys cheese crumb, but there's also modern favourites including fajitas, and a range of burgers. A similar dinner menu offers a selection of themed sharing plates, steaks, seafood and pies. There's separate menus for speedy dining with the Fork Out Less, lunch and dinner menus, Sunday Roast and Steak Tuesday.
