Blind Tyger

While it operates a relaxed door policy, you’d have to be looking for its subtle entrance to discover the text-riddled staircase that leads up to Blind Tyger's dark and opulent little bar.

Tucked away above its sister bar Sandinista and boasting a fine selection of exquisite spirits, liqueurs and homemade nectars, this hidden drinking den is set to become a first choice for date nights, late nights and mid-week cocktail evenings.

Cosy booth seating line its William Morris-esque papered walls and curious trinkets and ornaments adorn its shelves and bookcases. Every element of the bar has been custom built using reclaimed materials and locally sourced vintage props and antiques, creating a comfortable mood that reflects a 19th century drinking room.

Swing-jazz, electric blues, chilled dance and subtle hip hop add to the bar’s intimate atmosphere and the small bar team here have put together a drinks menu to suit. Their cocktails are a carefully considered list of extravagant pours and delicate mixes that take inspiration from classic serves, whilst homemade infused spirits create delicious blends such as their popular Gospel Sour; Maple Smoked W.L Weller Bourbon hand shaken with honey, chocolate, vanilla and a whipped egg white.

A fine choice of craft beers and bottled ales can be also found on the menu along with hand-selected wines for the world’s best vine regions.

Attentive staff offering mid-week table service and an atmosphere cooler than most ensures that whether you make a bee line for this curious little haunt, or simply stumble across it, you won’t be disappointed.
