Food for Thought
Having started out as a vegetable box delivery service in 2000, Karen Woodhouse and Jane Hodgson’s business has grown into a thriving deli and greengrocers. Stocking the best of local produce, along with imported and hard-to-find foodstuffs, the selection is huge, with quality and provenance paramount. As well as the fruit and veg, more than 30 cheeses – featuring local, UK and international varieties – vie for counter space with charcuterie, pâté, gourmet pies, olives and antipasti. Banffshire beef and pork from Newburgh are complemented by a range of smoked fish and other seafood delicacies. Freshly made biscuits and bakes come from Kincardine Castle Kitchen, there’s a range of ethical coffees and tea, as well as something stronger in the shape of organic wines and Scottish ales.
