Borland Farm / Highland Drovers
Not open to the public.
Borland Farm rear Highland and Belted Galloway cattle, as well as Hebridean sheep. The 750-acre farm is located at 1200ft in Glenshee, between Blairgowrie and Braemar, and sells meat under the Highland Drovers brand, online and though Drovers butchers shop in Perth. They also have stalls at farmers' markets in the region, and offer meat box deliveries. The Highland cattle fold on Borland farm was started in 1996, with an emphasis on blood lines from the Western Isles of Scotland including Mull and Uist. Shortly afterwards the foundation stock of the current Hebridean flock arrived, and the Belted Galloway fold was started in 2005. The Highland Drovers cutting plant in Perth was taken over by Seriously Good Venison in January 2012, and rebranded as Seriously Good Butchery.
