Dutch couple Jane and Ron Dekker opened Treats in 2011, after moving to the area in 2008. Already part of the community as owners of The Country Store, Kinloch Rannoch's village shop, they quickly built up a following for their home baking – the daily scone is a popular fixture – and unfussy lunches, as well as the Scottish artwork and gifts on sale. In summer the menu concentrates on salads, in winter a daily hot dish might be stovies or a smoked chicken leg. The Rannoch platter is on all year round, featuring a game terrine and trio of meats from nearby Rannoch Smokery, as is home-made soup. They’re dog friendly – a good move for a cafe in the middle of walkers’ paradise, and will open in the evenings for private functions of more than ten people, as well as for occasional events advertised through their Facebook page.
