Believing that no one should have to miss out on good quality chocolate, Fife-based chocolatier Claire Baker created Considerit’s range of vegan and – unofficially – gluten-free chocolates and truffles. Far from missing out, the choice now includes raspberry, honeycomb or cranberry crunch bars (among a number of other flavours); ‘cream’ eggs; fudge; salted caramel teacakes; ten varieties of truffle bar; fruit and nut chocolate and edible hot chocolate spoons. Find them at Claire’s Dunfermline shop (which has irregular opening hours – check in advance), online or in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket, Stockbridge or Leith markets at weekends. She’s also made plenty of vegan friends with her filled doughnuts and ice-cream. A small business with a loyal following, everything is made, wrapped and packaged by hand.
