Intimate Leith neighbourhood taqueria offering fresh and fiery soft tacos inspired by international flavours.
Dining at Bodega’s original Leith Walk taqueria is an intimate affair in every way. The personal touch begins with a sincere welcome from passionate foodie and host John Howard. Décor-wise images of Mexican wrestlers adorn the walls and Mexican-inspired fusions adorn the menu. Corn tortillas are hand-prepared in-house and provide the perfect accompaniment to the rich flavours they enfold. Two sets of two tacos are recommended for two diners – bypass the specials at your own risk: smoky chorizo combined with pan-fried squid, and tandoori chicken with garam masala aioli make unexpected but inspired fillings. Avocado three ways sounds like a challenge but with fresh guacamole to start, avocado tempura tacos to follow and refreshing avocado key lime pie to finish, there’s no weak link – just added vitamins with every course. Wash it all down with a jarrito or BYOB for a night out that won’t cost the price of a trans-Atlantic flight.
