A simple but welcoming spot tucked behind Carluke’s high street, run as a social enterprise to provide work and vocational training for adults with autism. They serve up café favourites including panini, baked potatoes and bagels alongside a spread of cakes and pastries.
Run by Scottish Autism as a social enterprise, Café Kudos has provided work and vocational training for adults with autism since 1995. Tucked behind Carluke’s high street, it’s easy to miss if you don’t know the area, and the plain exterior could throw you still further, but inside the small café the atmosphere is welcoming. Smiley waiters greet you, and the chat by the kitchen hatch is cheerful. The menu is made up of café favourites – panini, baked potatoes and bagels – with a counter of inviting cakes and pastries. The short opening hours make this a popular tea and cake stop.
