Zest Restaurant at The Gailes
A stylish interior with soft furnishings is complemented by the outside terraces, an ideal spot for a casual drink. Light bites, coffee and cake and puddings all on offer.
An Irvine-based hotel complex with an extensive repertoire in catering for weddings, functions, corporate events and golfing trips, the Gailes Hotel also operates an in-house restaurant for members of the public. Decorated in contemporary style with walnut wood finishes and with its own outdoor terrace, it offers an extensive menu, similar to that of other venues in the SimpsInns group of hotels and restaurants, which draws from a variety of influences. Until noon the breakfast menu includes Eggs Benedict, French toast and a ‘full Ayrshire’, with lighter paninis, sandwiches and baked potatoes served throughout the day. The main menu, meanwhile, fuses the anticipated (steaks, chicken with haggis, pasta and curry dishes) with the more distinctive such as a salmon saltimbocca of fish wrapped in parma ham and sage leafs. The local sourcing is also good, including Ayrshire pork for the schnitzel and Arran Ale in the steak pie.
