Mhor 84 Motel
An 18th-century roadhouse transformed into a simple, chic motel with seven reasonably priced rooms off the A84 between Callander and Crianlarich.
This review is taken from the 2013 edition.
Situated off the A84 between Callander and Crianlarich, the team behind the venerable Mhor stable and Glagow favourites Deli/Cafezique have transformed this 18th century roadhouse into a simple, chic motel with seven reasonably-priced rooms. That pedigree should ensure the food here is a major draw – produce from the family farm and Mhor 84’s own kitchen garden providing much of the impetus behind Tom Lewis’ dishes. With walkers likely to provide much of the custom (the area is part of the Rob Roy Way, with Glencoe and plenty of munros nearby too) , they’ll be serving up the whole gamut –- breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and late-night snacks – to ensure no-one is left wanting. Once the cagoules are hung up however, there probably won’t be many heading back out into the hills.
