Kirkland Farm Shop and Tearoom

This small farm shop focuses on the farm's own organic, outdoor reared pork and lamb, and ensures that everything stocked is local or Scottish, including preserves and honey, gifts, Arran cheese and a small amount of seasonal veg and organic eggs from the farm. The McHargs rear British Saddleback pigs, and also sell nearby Clash Farm's pedigree Saddlebacks. Marion McHarg, who runs the shop and tearoom, hopes to begin re-selling organic beef soon, after their provider stopped production. The café serves all-day breakfasts and lunches, as well as afternoon tea from 2–4pm daily for £9.95. Baking, soups, scones and hot specials are made on site. Based in a conservatory looking out over the surrounding countryside, it makes a virtue of its idyllic farmland setting with a children's play area in sight of the tearoom, so parents can stay watchful but also warm.
