Cyrenians Good Food
A social enterprise using a range of services to bring good food and healthy lifestyles to people who are experiencing disadvantage, isolation, poverty and homelessness, The Cyrenians Good Food programme is part of a the wider Cyrenians charity. They offer cooking classes designed around these aims at a REHIS accredited training centre These include a health award for organisations that trains two people up to a standard at which they can pass that training on, food hygiene courses, elementary food and health courses, and courses for carers of adults with disabilities. Beyond this they offer traineeships in Cyrenian social enterprises to help people get back into settled work, and also run a food redistribution project called FareShare. This collects nine tonnes a week of good food that would otherwise be wasted, and redistributes it among member agencies in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
