Billington's Deli & Ice Cream
Opened in November 2012, owners Mark and Sue Billington bring a strong background to their new deli and ice-cream parlour. Mark worked as a buyer for Harrod's before moving to Scotland, where he was a director of Paperino’s in Glasgow. Sue's the managerial expert, with a past running Channel 4's TV offices. Billed as Lenzie's first artisan food and drink outlet, Billington's sells Scottish cheese and beer, whisky and wine, fresh bread and deli meats, including boxes and hampers of all of these. There are takeaway teas and coffees, sandwiches and soups, as well as the pièce de résistance: a cold slab where ice-cream is hand mixed to customers' flavour choices.
