The New Masala Pot
With an extensive if slightly predictable roster of Indian and Bangladeshi meals, the fact that the list of specialities is almost longer than the selection of traditional curries doesn’t exactly guide customers towards what they do best. However, play it safe you won’t go far wrong. The chicken tikka masala is recommended, a typically rich and moreish blend of creamy yoghurt-based sauce and tender chicken with a bit of kick to it, although the lamb balti special sauce doesn’t quite present the nicely cooked meat at its best. Sides of rice and a stuffed vegetable paratha are all satisfying, although a large dish of raita doesn’t inspire with its odd, puddingy consistency.
