In the heart of Speyside, Balmenach Distillery is where Caorunn premium gin is distilled in small batches. Licensed in 1824, it was one of the first distilleries to be licenced in Scotland, and is now owned by Inver House Distillers Limited, making it sister distillery to Glenlivet, Knockdhu, Balblair and Old Pulteney distilleries. Mothballed between 1993–1998, Inver House re-opened it, and the traditional machinery and methods are still used to make 2 million litres of whisky a year, destined for blended malts.
- Open since: 1824
